Elsa's Books began as a single secondhand shelf in the back of a coffee shop. The idea was simple, and it hasn't changed: nobody should have to choose between the book they can read tonight and the book they want on their shelf for good.
Every founder here has a shelf of paperbacks they never finished, next to a Kindle full of the same titles bought again out of impatience. We got tired of paying twice and waiting for shipping when we just wanted to start reading — so we built a shop where every title ships as both from day one.
We're not trying to be the biggest bookshop online. We're trying to be the one where the person who chose the books actually read them.
Every title on this site was chosen by a person on our team, not surfaced by a recommendation engine. If we wouldn't hand it to a friend, we don't stock it.
Ebook and paperback, side by side, with no artificial gap between them. You pick the format that fits the moment, not the one the platform pushes.
We'd rather stock 400 books we believe in than 40,000 we don't. Fewer choices, better ones.
